Photosynthesis: the pondweed practical

Investigate how light intensity affects oxygen production.

Key ideas1 of 4

Pondweed releases oxygen

An aquatic plant such as pondweed can release visible gas bubbles while photosynthesising. The gas is mainly oxygen. Measure the gas produced in a fixed time to estimate the photosynthesis rate.
