Two poles, two possible interactions
A magnet has a north pole and a south pole. Magnetic forces are strongest at the poles. When two magnets are brought together, unlike poles attract and like poles repel. North attracts south; north repels north; south repels south. Attraction pulls the magnets towards each other. Repulsion pushes them apart. Identify the two ends that face each other before deciding which interaction occurs.
