Privacy and usage choices
You can use every lesson, quiz and paper without an account and without agreeing to usage statistics.
Optional usage statistics
If you choose Allow, this website counts visits, pages opened and use of learning resources. This helps us see which lessons, quizzes, papers and practicals are useful.
We record the page or resource used and the type of activity, such as opening a paper, using an animation or finishing a quiz. We do not include your name, typed answers, quiz scores, email address, location or IP address in these usage records. There are no advertising trackers or session recordings.
Your choice
Choose No thanks to keep optional usage statistics off. You can change your choice with the Usage settings link at the bottom of any page. Your choice is remembered in this browser for up to 180 days. Browser privacy signals such as Do Not Track also keep tracking off.
Choosing Allow creates a random browser code that expires after 30 days and a visit code that resets after 30 minutes of inactivity. On the server, these become daily codes that cannot link your visits across different dates. They are used to count browsers and visits without identifying you. Changing your choice to No thanks removes the browser and visit codes from this browser.
How long records stay
Daily counting codes and duplicate-event checks more than 7 calendar days old are removed when new usage events are processed. Aggregate counts for pages and activities more than 90 calendar days old are removed in the same way. Only the site owner and authorised editors can read the statistics; they are not shown publicly.
Counts are estimates: people who decline or block tracking are not included, shared browsers can represent more than one person, and a person using several browsers may be counted more than once. A click on a paper means the link was opened, not that a download or the paper was completed.
Existing learning progress
Some quizzes save progress or best scores on your own device so you can return to them. That existing local progress stays on your device and is not included in usage statistics.
Hosting and external links
The hosting provider processes the network requests needed to deliver the website. Official AQA links open resources provided by AQA, which has its own privacy information. Our optional usage records are separate from hosting security logs.
