Copper-rich ores are limited. Low-grade ores contain a smaller proportion of useful copper compounds. Phytomining uses plants to take up metal compounds through their roots. Harvest and burn the plants; their ash contains copper compounds. Dissolve these to obtain a solution for metal recovery.
