Detecting a temperature change
The thermoregulatory centre in the brain monitors and controls body temperature. Its receptors detect the temperature of the blood. Temperature receptors in the skin also send nervous impulses to this centre. Information from both sources helps coordinate responses. A warm room and a raised internal temperature are related observations, but they are not the same measurement or the same receptor location.
