Using auxins in cultivation
Auxins can be used as weedkillers, in rooting powders and to promote growth in tissue culture. Rooting powder helps cuttings form roots. Selective weedkillers can remove susceptible weeds from a crop, reducing competition for resources. However, killing plants can reduce biodiversity and affect organisms that depend on them. Evaluation should consider both the agricultural benefit and effects beyond the target crop.
