Titrations: find the reacting volumes

Key ideas1 of 4

Why use a titration?

A titration finds the volumes of an acid and an alkali that react exactly. Both are soluble, so you cannot filter away an excess. Required practical 2 uses a strong acid and alkali. Acids include hydrochloric, nitric and sulfuric acid; sodium hydroxide is a suitable alkali.
