Start with two useful rays
For an object beyond the principal focus of a convex lens, draw two rays from the top of the object. Draw one parallel to the principal axis; after the lens it passes through the far focus. Draw another through the optical centre; it continues straight. The point where these real outgoing rays meet is the top of the image.
