A material can affect different waves differently
Higher Tier: electromagnetic waves may be absorbed, transmitted, reflected or refracted at a material. Which behaviour occurs depends on both the material and the wave’s wavelength. Transmission means the wave passes through. Absorption transfers energy to the material. Reflection sends the wave back at a boundary. Refraction can change its direction as it enters a different material. Do not assume a material that is transparent to visible light must transmit every electromagnetic wavelength. In the illustrative material example, radio waves pass through while visible light is absorbed; this describes the stated material, not all materials.
