Momentum is p = mv, mass in kg multiplied by velocity in m/s. Its unit is kg m/s. Choose a positive direction and keep signs consistent. A 2 kg trolley moving right at 3 m/s has momentum 6 kg m/s right. A stationary trolley has zero momentum.
