Higher Tier: moles and tangent calculations

Key ideas1 of 3

Amounts in moles

Higher Tier also uses amounts in moles. Mean rate = amount in mol ÷ time in s. For 0.12 mol in 30 s: 0.004 mol/s.

A mean rate example using moles: 0.12 divided by 30 gives 0.004 moles per second.
