The brain: specialised regions

Key ideas1 of 3

A connected control centre

The brain controls complex behaviour. Billions of interconnected neurones allow information to be received, processed and passed to other cells. Different regions have different main functions, although they work together. A diagram shows regions, not separate organs operating independently. In the side view, A points to the folded outer region of the large upper part of the brain.
