Cuttings
A cutting is a piece removed from a parent plant and encouraged to grow into a new plant. For example, a shoot cutting can develop roots in suitable conditions. No gametes fuse, and new cells are produced by mitosis. Gardeners use this relatively simple method to multiply plants with useful features. The new plants are clones of the parent, although their final appearance also depends on the conditions in which they grow.
