Photosynthesis

How plants use light to make glucose.

Key ideas1 of 3

Light energy makes a difference

Plants use light energy to make glucose from carbon dioxide and water. Oxygen is also produced. Photosynthesis is endothermic: energy is transferred from the surroundings into the plant.

Carbon dioxide and water enter a chloroplast.

Follow the inputs, the chloroplast and the products.
